Transportation Funding Legislation Fails by 3 Votes - Was Your Legislator a "Yea" or a "Nay"?
April 11, 2008
SR 845 would have put a question on the November ballot asking voters to authorize local elections to levy a sales tax to fund a specified list of regional transportation projects. HB 1035 was a companion bill that provided details on the administration of what would have been landmark legislation.
In the end, only 52 of the 236 members of the General Assembly voted against the measure, but it failed to reach the required 2/3 majority vote in the Senate.
